Are we in a two speed economy?

We cannot give you a short answer but can give you a limited insight through recent experience in our sector of the economy. Over the past six months, DBL has been fortunate to gain three new DG storage clients – all with different reasons for choosing us as their preferred supplier. The first wanted capacity to store up to 3000 pallets for six months whilst production lines and owned storage facilities were reconfigured. The second is one of the largest importers of raw chemicals who required additional segregated DG storage due to increased demand - our location to the South East and East Melbourne industrial/manufacturing hubs and distribution capabilities were seen as an additional bonus. Our third client, a major manufacturer of high end personal hygiene and consumer products had an excess of propellant based product and were able to take advantage of our ability to take in their product at short notice. From our perspective, there is not one clear overriding trend so do we try to over simplify too quickly by saying the economy is driven by mining and bemoan the loss of manufacturing?

Recruiting Drivers

As a result of an increased demand for our Metro and Country Melbourne distribution services , we are recruiting drivers and owner drivers to meet our clients’ tight delivery schedules. We believe these additions to our fleet together with our existing and proven pick/pack capabilities give added value to our clients to meet the fast moving nature of business today. Please contact Neal Hambridge or Belinda Kelly for a quotation for ad hoc or contract distribution rates.
